Svc. w/ Paul Winter 9/26 in NYC Message-ID: Thomas Berry Award & Memorial Service with Paul Winter On Saturday, September 26, many from all over the globe will gather at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City to honor the memory and celebrate the life of Thomas Berry, who passed from this life on June 1. Among those speaking at the award ceremony will be Steven Rockefeller and members of the Berry family, as well as this year's award recipient, Martin S. Kaplan. The memorial service will include tributes from Mary Evelyn Tucker, John Grim, Brian Swimme, Wm. Theodore de Bary, Brian Brown, and Sr. Miriam MacGillis. Joining the procession will be members of the Omega Dance Company, Ralph Lee and the wind sock banners of the Mettawee River Company, and we will be graced with a variety of inspiring musical contributions, including a solo tribute by Paul Winter. Two new volumes of essays by Thomas Berry will be available at the event, as well as a book of tributes compiled by Herman Greene. The Award presentation will begin at 2 p.m. The Memorial Service will begin at 4 p.m. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. All events will take place in the main Cathedral.
